Offshore engineering platform

Editor: 熊思尘 Date: 2016-03-24 Hits: 551

The test platform for offshore geotechnical engineering includes 3D pipe-soil interaction system for offshore pipeline, cyclic test system for offshore foundation and ‘Huajiachi’ offshore test platform.

‘Huajiachi’ test platform is the first floating test platform for offshore research. The platform is 19m in length, 15m in width, 16m in height and 660 ton in displacement. It will be used to monitor the in-site environment data of wind, wave and current in the long term, and to carry out offshore tests including seabed sampling, CPT and riser fatigue test.

The 3D pipe-soil interaction system includes model pipe, seabed model tank, bi-directional control system, hydraulic servo system with high precision and automatic data-acquisition system. The model tank is 15m long, 1.2m wide and 1.5m high, which could be used to contain sand, silt or clay. The model pipe is 14m in length, 0.16m in diameter and 0.008m in thickness. Both horizontal and vertical cyclic loads could be applied to the pipe end, with different amplitudes and frequencies, to model the real pipe movement caused by wind, wave, current and vessel.

The cyclic test system for offshore foundation includes model tank, loading shaft, loading system, data acquisition system, control system, model suction anchor and apparatus for soil strength including T-bar and Ball-bar. The model tank is 3m long, 1.2m wide and 1.5m high, with δ=4mm. At the bottom, there is a drainage system composed of PVC pipe, gravel geotextile. The system could be used to model the installation of offshore foundations, test the bearing capacity of seabed soil when the foundation is loaded by multi-directional loads, either force or displacement, in the long term at different loading location.
