Training Scheme for the Specialty of Civil Engineering

Training Targets

Importance is attached to teaching of this specialty combining the basic theories as well as the theories of science and technology with the practice, for the students to grasp a substantial fundamental theoretical knowledge about mathematics, and mechanics, as well as the knowledge about humanities and sociology, and the fundamental theoretical knowledge about civil engineering technology, to be provided with a relatively high foreign language level and computer application ability, to be given with the basic training for registered engineer, and to be trained into a high-level science & technology and management talent typical of good integrated quality of engineering science & technology and humanities & sociology, rich in innovative spirit. The students shall be able to engage in planning, design, construction, management, and scientific research, etc in the fields of architectural engineering, road and bridge engineering, municipal engineering, geotechnical engineering, and engineering management, etc, as high-quality composite-type science & technology and management talents rich in innovative spirit.

Training Requirements

The students majoring in this specialty will mainly learn the basic theories and basic knowledge about mathematics, mechanics, computer, engineering graphing, survey, engineering structure and material, construction technology, and engineering economy, etc, and accept the basic training on the abilities for computer application, registered engineer, and engineering practice. The courses related to architectural engineering, road and bridge engineering, municipal engineering, geotechnical engineering, engineering management and other fields are opened for this specialty, and the students my independently select the courses for systematic study according to their own preferences and needs of development.

The graduates shall acquire the knowledge and abilities in the following aspects:

1. Mastery over a firm and solid fundamental theoretical knowledge about mathematics, mechanics, and other natural sciences and preferable knowledge about humanities and sociology, provided with integrated ability for computer application and foreign language

2. Mastery over basic theories and basic knowledge about mechanics, material mechanics, fluid mechanics, soil mechanics, engineering geology, and engineering graphing

3. Mastery over special basic knowledge about building material, structural principle and design, computer analysis, and engineering design, etc and mastery of the basic knowledge and basic technical skills of engineering survey, civil engineering construction, engineering economy, project management, and engineering experiment, etc, provided with abilities for engagement in engineering design, construction, management, and research.

4. Understanding about the theoretical front edges and development trends of respective core disciplines for civil engineering, mastery over the basic methods for literature search and data query, and provided with certain ability for scientific research and practical work

Training Scheme for the Specialty of Hydraulic Engineering

Training Targets

Importance is attached to theoretical and practice teaching of this specialty, to train high-quality composite high-level technical talents typical of solid foundation of natural sciences and humanities and as well as international visual field, able to engage in surveying, planning, design, construction, and scientific research and management, as well as information technology application in the fields for development of basin water resources, development of estuarine coastal, and offshore resources, water conservancy and hydropower, and water environmental protection, etc.

Training Requirements

The students majoring in this specialty will mainly learn the basic theories and basic knowledge about water resources and ocean engineering, exercise mastery over basic knowledge and special technical skills of water conservancy and hydropower engineering, port coastal and offshore engineering, hydrographical water resources, water environmental engineering, and other fields, shall accept basic training on the abilities for engineering graphing, analysis of mechanics, engineering calculation, surveying, experiment, design, and integrated analysis, etc, together with a penetrated understanding about computer technology and modern information technology. This specialty has set up three smaller units of special directions, and the students may independently select one special direction for study according to interest.

The graduates shall acquire the knowledge and abilities in following 6 aspects:

1. Provided with relatively solid foundation of natural sciences, relatively good foundations of humanities & sociology and economic management as well as general language ability

2. Mastery over the basic theories, knowledge, and technical skills of structural mechanics, hydraulics, river and coastal mechanics, hydrology water resources, soil mechanics, engineering geology, and engineering graphing

3. Mastery over the basic knowledge and technical skills o f building material, reinforced concrete structural basic principle, river and coastal buildings, and computer application, etc, provided with the abilities for engagement in planning, design and research on water conservancy and hydropower engineering, port coastal and offshore engineering, and water environmental engineering

4. Mastery over the basic knowledge and technical skills of engineering survey, water conservancy engineering construction technology and management, etc, and provided with the abilities for engagement in surveying, construction, and management

5. Understanding about the theoretical front edges and development trends on this discipline, mastery over the basic methods for literature search and data query, and provided with certain abilities for scientific research and practical work

6. Familiar with the national guidelines, policies, and statutes about water conservancy and hydropower, as well as port coastal and offshore engineering construction and management

Training Scheme for the Specialty of Architecture

Training Targets

This scheme aims to train general-type and composite-type high-level architectural engineering technical talents who are devoted to architectural career and concerned for human survival environment and social integrated interest, provided with solid theoretical knowledge and basic technical skills for architectural design, urban planning design, landscape design, and other aspects, and integrated quality and competitive ability for attaching importance to practice and innovation, provided with good professional ethics and team awareness, able to engage in design work, in addition to be provided with the ability for adaptation to multiple occupations.

Training Requirements

The students shall mainly learn the principles and methods related to architectural design, urban planning and design as well as landscape design, and the basic knowledge related hereto about architectural history, structure, construction, material, technology, economy, and other aspects, and will accept strict special technical training on architectural design, provided with abilities for analysis, consolidation, optimal selection, and evaluations of various architectural functions, models, space organization, technical economy, environmental landscape, and other aspects, as well as the abilities for practical, economical and nice design schemes. This specialty has set two smaller special directions including architecture and landscape science, and the students may enter into one direction through exam to study the corresponding module courses.

The graduates shall acquire the knowledge and abilities in the following aspects:

1. Provided with solid foundation for engineering technology and art design, considerably good quality of humanities and sociology, and considerably good ability for language integrated expression

2. Mastery over the basic principles and methods of architectural design, urban planning and design or landscape design, and provided with the abilities for independent design and adoption of multiple forms to express design intentions, able to skillfully application of computer for aided design

3. Understanding about the development patterns of Chinese and foreign architectural histories, mastery over the relationship between human physiology, psychology, and behavior with building environment, and understanding about the fundamentals about economic knowledge, and social and cultural customs, as well as laws and statutes related to building or landscape

4. Primary mastery over the basic knowledge about architectural structure and building equipment system, the principles and methods of architectural construction or landscape engineering, the performance of building materials and new materials in common use, and the knowledge about sound, light, heat, or plant, and landscape planting related to building physics

5. Provided with certain abilities for project early-stage planning, architectural or landscape design scheme, and drafting of construction drawings, and provided with the culture in the aspect of architecture or landscape aesthetics

Training Scheme for the Specialty of Urban Planning

Training Targets

This scheme aims to train advanced talents provided with keen and broad visual field, concerned for human habitation environment and social integrated benefit, provided with solid theoretical knowledge and basic special skills for planning, with importance given to enhancement of integrated quality for practice and innovation, provided with good professional ethics and team awareness, for rural and urban construction, planning research, planning design, and planning management.

Training Requirements

The students will mainly learn the basic theories and basic knowledge about urban planning, urban traffic & transportation engineering planning, urban landscape and garden planning, regional planning, and other aspects, to exercise mastery over the theories and methods of urban planning, urban design, and urban planning management, and will be provided with the basic abilities for taking part in urban and rural planning and design, urban landscape and garden planning, transportation and municipal engineering planning, as well as economic and social development planning, and other special planning work.

The graduates shall acquire the knowledge and abilities in the following aspects:

1. Mastery over the basic theories and basic knowledge about urban and rural planning g
