Biography: Dr. John Morton is a Research Associate at the Centre for Offshore Foundation Systems at the University of Western Australia(UWA).He completed his undergraduate Engineering degree in Civil Engineering at Trinity college in Dublin, Ireland and his phD in UWA. His research interests include anchors, dynamic penetration of the seabed and ascertaining the undrained shear strength of the upper layer of soft soils. He is currently working on a collaborative project between Zhejiang University and the University of Western Australia. Currently, Dr. Morton is visiting zhejiang University to carry out an offshore site investigation project for the Huajiachi semi-submersible platform in collaboration with professor Lizhong Wang and Dr. Guo Zhen.
