In accordance with Notice on Assessment Results of Zhejiang University Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education in Urban-Rural Planning Major (No.65[2016]) issued by the Evaluation Committee of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on Urban-Rural Planning Major of Higher Education Institutions, and through discussions and voting in the plenary meeting of the Assessment Committee, Zhejiang University MSc. & BSc. in Urban-Rural Planning won the honor of “Excellence” in the professional educational evaluation, with a validity for 6 years.
    Designated by Evaluation Committee of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on Urban-Rural Planning Major in Higher Education Institutions, Professor Wu Weijia from Tsinghua University, Professor and Senior Planner Bian Jingwei from Urban Construction & Environmental Resources Committee of Xiamen People’s Congress, Professor and Senior Planner Qiao Jianping from Urban Planning & Design Institute of Shenzhen, and Professor Hong Liangping from Huazhong University of Science and Technology constituted an assessment team and conducted a sincere, careful and rigorous investigation on the specialty of MSc. & BSc. in Urban-Rural Planning, Zhejiang University from May 29th to June 1st, 2016. The University and the College attached great importance to the evaluation and carried out thorough preparation and arrangement in advance, ensuring the investigation and evaluation sound and successful.
   According to the evaluation report, Zhejiang University and CCEA have done fruitful works on the basis of recommendations put forward by the previous round of evaluation. ZJU Urban-Rural Planning Major integrates various educational resources with a well-established disciplinary system, having distinctive features of multidisciplinary practices and an integration of industry, education and research; improves disciplinary echelon and academic research, resulting in greater advancement in scientific research and social influence.
     A total of 7 higher education institutions, including Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Chongqing University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Tianjin University, Southwest Jiao Tong University, and Southeast University won the honor of Excellence in both MSc. & BSc. in Urban-Rural Planning.
