Primary Teaching Area

Professor Dianhai Wang is currently a doctorate supervisor working with the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture at Zhejiang University. As a Principal Investigator, he is the leader of Key Sicence and Technology Innovation Team (on ITS) of Zhejiang Province and has led seven research projects (including two key projects) funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, two projects funded by the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program), two projects sponsored by the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), and one project supported by the National Key Technology R&D Program. In collaboration with industry, Professor Wang has developed mixed traffic flow adaptive control systems and products that are widely implemented in many large and middle cities nationwide. He has published more than 200 papers and held more than 30patents of invention. Professor Wang has won many awards in the field of transportation.
Professor Wang’s research team consists of two Professors, one “Hundred Talent Program” Professor of Zhejiang University, two Associate Professors, four Assistant Professors and three Research Scientists. Their primary research interests including traffic flow theory, traffic operation and control, traffic video detection, traffic information, transportation planning, etc. Over years, his team has undertaken more than ten national research projects and more than twenty provincial and ministerial projects. More than 30 Ph.D. students and 80 master students graduated from this team. Professor Wang and his research team has been an important center of research and education in transportation engineering, providing the society with numerous talents.
