Biography:
Professor Virender K. Sharma is a member of the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, Texas A&M University. He has authored and co-authored over 250 academic articles dealing with the problems of Ferrate (VI) technology in sustainable water environment and the toxicity of nanoparticles in aquatic environment, especially for application of Ferrate (VI) technology in water treatment. He was selected by the American Chemical Society as an outstanding chemist.
Presentation Abstract:
1. Chemistry and applications of ferrates (VI, V, and IV) (inactivation of virus, bacteria, and toxins in water and air and removal of emerging contaminants such as antibiotics, estrogens and toxic metals in water);
3. Applications of ferrites to destroy toxins and pollutants under solar light.
