The 15th IASS Hangai Prize Awarding Ceremony was held at the opening ceremony of the 2017 International Symposium on Shell and SpatialStructure held in Hamburg, Germany (Sept. 25th-29th). Wang Yafeng, PhD Studentfrom our college, who is jointly supervised by Associate Professor Xu Xian and Professor Luo Yaozhi, won the prize and made a report on his achievements.

Hangai Prize has been set up by IASS in honor of the late professor Yasuhiko Hangai (Japan, 1942 - 1998), a renowned scholar in the field of shell and spatialstructure. The prize is awarded to outstanding young scholars, designers and engineers worldwide who have made prominent achievements in the field of shell and spatialstructure, with an annual selection of four. The other three prize winners come from the University of Washington, Princeton University and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.

This is the first time for our students to win Hangai prize, showing the current research level of our college in the field of spatial structure, and promoting the international influence of our discipline.
