The 11th ZJU-CEU Workshop Successfully Started

The 24th Go Global team led by Vice Director He Yong and Cheng Guanglin , Associate Professor Jin Fang and Wu Jing, attended by 12 undergraduate and postgraduate students from the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture arrived in Madrid on March 10th for a 2-week workshop and field research on architecture in Spain. This means that the ZJU-CEU Workshop which had been stalled for 4 years due to the epidemic has restarted officially.

Workshop

Professor He Yong delivered a speech on “Promoting the Integration of people with Design”. Chinese students gave presentations on five topics of site analysis, the history of Shaoxing, Shaoxing’s cultural characteristics, Shaoxing’s residential houses, and the concept of sharing, because of the site of the design exercise this year - Shaoxing Yangming Cultural Centre – is in China. Afterwards, the students from both countries were mixed into 11 groups and put forward a series of preliminary design concepts after deep discussions on site analysis, design strategy and other issues. Professors from both sides gave them comments and suggestions.

After the communication on CEU campus, ZJU students then went to visit Bilboa, Pamplona, San Sebastian, Mérida, Córdoba, Granada, Barcelona and other cities and did field research on architecture.
