Jose Maria Goicolea简介
Graduated as Civil Engineer ("Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos") at the TechnicalUniversity of Madrid in 1979, Ph.D. at the University of London in 1986. Full professor inthe school of civil engineering at the technical university of Madrid since 1993. Head of theresearch group in computational mechanics. Research work within the fields of structural dynamics, nonlinear finite element models and biomechanics. He has been part of 32research projects (20 as principal investigator) and 44development projects for companiesor administrations. He has published 17 papers in international indexed technical journals and 86 communications in conferences (49 of international level), directed 6 Ph.D. theses and has been an invited member at 26 Ph.D. thesis juries. He is vicepresident of SEMNI(Spanish society for numerical methods in engineering) and has chaired the organization of two international congresses in the field of computational mechanics.
In the area of railway engineering, he has been responsible for the committee charged by the Spanish Ministry of Public Works for drafting a national code for actions in railway bridges (IAPF, 2007) and for the proposal of National Application Documents for Eurocodes EN1991-2 and EN1990-A1 in the same field. He has participated in structural experts group in the drafting of new 2008 European Technical Specifications for
Interoperability of railway infrastructure. He has carried out a number of research and development projects for the administration and for private companies for the dynamics of railway bridges and other railway infrastructure. He has been recently appointed to lead a committee for the revision of some points in the Spanish code for railway bridges, and to participate in the group of structural experts for revision of some items in Eurocodes for railway bridges.
