报告简介:
Potential climate changes are expected to have substantial impact on a wide range of water resource systems such as natural catchments, dams and reservoirs, distribution networks and storm-water systems. Therefore, assessing the potential impact of climate changes is critical to the planning, design and maintenance of these water resource systems. Such assessments are traditionally conducted with a scenario-lead (top-down) approach, while the use of scenario-neutral (bottom-up) approaches has recently gain increasing popularity. In this presentation, Danlu will take us through the basics of scenario-neutral approaches, and also discussing some of her own related works. These will be followed by some research ideas to illustrate how these approaches can provide useful information for assessing system vulnerability under a changing climate.

报告人简介:
Danlu has completed her PhD in the University of Adelaide. Back then she has worked closely around assessing potential impact of climate changes on water resource systems. She is currently a research associate in the University of New South Wales, starting to explore a wider range of relevant applications. A key component of her work is for a WaSH (water, sanitation and hygiene) project under the WHO (world health organization), investigating the potential relationships between climate variability and drinking water quality in Tanzania.
