The Structural Group in the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) at Iowa State University has immediate openings for Ph.D. candidates in Civil Engineering starting from August 2015. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or a closely related area; strong background in structural analysis, numerical modeling (ABAQUS, ANSYS or other commercial FEA software) and analytical study. Experience with structural testing is a plus. The students will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research on green buildings and sustainable infrastructure. Research assistantship is available, which will cover the tuition and living costs.
