l PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE（11/2005 to Present）
Climate change and water resources adaptation: Program technical lead, PI and WAM. Initiate and manage
research projects on global climate change, water resource impacts, and engineering mitigation for
sustainable resource development. Develop multi-year research plan, internal and external collaborations.
Participated in ORD climate change MYP revision, and provided technical support to EPA draft carbon
sequestration rule making.
Wastewater Reuse: PI and WAM initiated research projects on contaminant fate and transport in wastewater
reuse and BMPs. Prepared proposals and initiated collaborative research programs with several regional
water and wastewater utilities, universities, and other Agencies.
Drinking Water Disinfection By-Products WAM and PI design and manage research projects on drinking water
disinfection by-product and alternative disinfectants. The project aims to find optimal engineering and
disinfectants that protect drinking water users from biological and toxic DBP contaminations
Adaptive EWS Research for Drinking Water Supplies PI initiated and developed real-time event adaptive
detection, identification and warning (READiw) system for facility protection against contamination in
drinking water systems. Published journal articles and prepared for patent application
Agency-wide, lab-wide research plans and initiatives: Participate in EPA/ORD research strategic planning on
water quality and global climate change adaptation, and in EPA rule-making process.
