报告摘要:
Recent R&Ds have shown that convergence of ICT (information and communication technology) to civil engineering is very promising to improve the safety, functionality, and life-cycle performance/cost of the civil infrastructure. This lecture introduces recent R&D activities on ICT convergence to civil infrastructural engineering with emphasis on full-scale implementations. More specifically presentation covers: 1) Smart Sensors & Structural Health Monitoring, 2) Soft Computing Techniques for Condition Assessment, 3) Structural Control & Smart Retrofit, and 4) ICT for Disaster Management. Finally several comments are made for the education and research toward a world leading university in science & technology. The ICT convergence is expected to lead the technological developments related to civil infrastructure for achieving a safe, resilient, and sustainable society with a better quality of life.
